Fabricator

DriSteem currently has an opening for Fabricator on first shift. We are looking for someone who can see opportunities and wants to make a difference as part of a growing team.

Position Summary:

To fabricate and inspect parts to specification, for maximum productivity, cost effectiveness, and quality with minimum supervision. Includes working from verbal instructions, DRI-STEEM documentation, and sketches in accordance with DRI-STEEM quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Produces quality parts, meeting production quotas following DRI-STEEM policies and procedures.
  • Follows process sheet and routings as supplied in job packet; if not available, determine proper sequence of set-up, fabrication operations, punch and dies, speeds, and feeds in fabrication of parts to specifications indicated by DRI-STEEM documentation, sketches, and verbal instructions. Involves working with highest degree of skill and proficiency with all fabrication tools including shear, press brakes, and punch press with minimum supervision.
  • Sets up and uses all precision measuring instruments to measure work.
  • Write and edit programs for both brake presses.
  • Sharpens punch and dies and makes special tools and simple fixturing where applicable.
  • Promotes continual compliance with ISO 9001 standards and procedures.
  • Ensures work area is maintained in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely, complies with safety rules, and promotes safe work practices.
  • Complies with Company and department policies and procedures, as applicable.
  • Keeps lead and supervisor informed of job related problems, and other information related to work activity.
  • Supports Lean initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Complies with any/all company safety and health rules and policies and promotes safe work practices. Report any safety concerns to a supervisor/manager.
  • Performs production or related work as apparent or assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of CNC Programming.
