Director of Finance

As the Director of Finance, you will be leading the Finance Department and managing all aspects of DriSteem's financial matters, including accounting, budgeting, planning, and forecasting. Acting as a member of DriSteem's executive leadership team, you will develop and implement long-term strategy, annual operating plans, and budgets. The position requires a hands-on, approachable player-coach leader that inspires, motivates, and empowers others while offering insightful leadership.

Strategic Leadership

  • Be a trusted advisor to the President. Know the numbers and the business and provide valuable financial advice related to strategic and tactical business activities
  • Provide in-depth and practical financial analysis to the executive leadership team
  • With the executive leadership team, develop and implement the annual strategic plan to ensure long-term profitable growth
  • Proactively teach employees beneficial skills and use of financial tools to build a more financially savvy organization
  • Be the respected "go-to" person in the company and among the leadership team for all financial matters

Financial Leadership

  • Exhibit high-level technical accounting understanding, reliably close monthly financials quickly and accurately
  • "Know the numbers" and "know the business" – provide insightful financial advice related to tactical and strategic business activities
  • Provide tools (technology or process driven) and assistance to department heads to develop and manage annual budgets
  • Promote full use of ERP to improve process and productivity
  • Strive for continuous process improvement to reduce cost and gain efficiencies while maintaining appropriate internal controls
  • Promote continual compliance with DriSteem's ISO 9001-based Quality Management System
  • Support the company in analyzing product cost reduction options and associated ROI

Financial Department Leadership

  • Lead and mentor department staff while facilitating skills growth and professional development
  • Create and support a culture of high expectations and accountability in the department
  • Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting and promote full utilization of ERP and other tools that improve productivity
  • Develop KPIs to monitor the performance of the company and the finance department
  • Develop and manage an annual department budget

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • 10+ year's progressive experience and passed the CPA exam (license not required)
  • Experience at a manufacturing company that includes cost accounting, monthly financial statements, standard product costing, and financial analysis
  • Experience and knowledge of standard product costing, budgeting, forecast modeling
  • Open management style and a record of championing and mentoring your team
  • Deep understanding and experience using financial functions of Syteline or similar ERP system
  • Ability to collaborate with other business function leaders and inspire others
  • Curiosity to understand what the numbers mean and passionate about sharing the details in a way those from a non-financial background can understand
  • Personable, thoughtful, and grounded while advocating to execute plans and projects
  • Bonus points: Experience at a regional or national public accounting firm
