Parts Manager I (Eden Prairie, MN)

The Parts Manager is responsible for supporting market share growth of DriSteem parts and accessories, as well as the strategy, roadmap, planning, marketing, and execution required to achieve it. The Parts Manager continuously analyzes market and competitive conditions and identifies promotion strategies and new channel opportunities based on customer demands. This hands-on role spans strategic to tactical activities and provides cross-functional coordination—bridging between marketing, sales, engineering, operations, and business systems.

The Parts Manager role acts with input from manager to ensure that parts and accessories offerings support the company’s overall strategy, and that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.  The Parts Manager role is focused on support and evolution of parts and accessories supplied for all currently supported DriSteem products.

Parts Manager will support and document market share performance and long-term strategy behind parts and accessories along with their competitive positioning, roadmaps, and forecasting.  Parts Manager will promote the voice of the customer inside the business championing packages that encourage product maintenance, talking to users, and getting user experience feedback first-hand from reps, engineers, contractors, and end-users. 

RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS

  • Research and analyze market conditions, share, competitors, and customer trends.
  • Be an expert on the market and competition and define how to position parts and accessories for success.
  • Understand and monitor market pricing conditions.
  • Articulate market requirements and volume growth opportunities.
  • Perform market research and intelligence gathering to determine customer requirements and business opportunity relative to line enhancements, extensions, new markets, channels, and applications.

PARTS AND ACCESSORIES PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT

  • Execute revenue, margin vision, strategy to champion products within the organization from the highest levels of executive leadership to development and implementation teams.
  • Document and communicate parts and accessories roadmaps to ensure long-term industry leadership through innovation and improvement within the framework of the company’s strategic direction.
  • Develop plans for parts and accessories that document positioning strategies (i.e., price, education, advertising, promotion), financial performance, market forecast and related product life cycle.
  • Manage financial performance: sales, margin, and P&L performance, conducting extensive numerical analysis using company data to drive ongoing improvement in sales and profitability.
  • Assist with aftermarket packages for new products, existing products, value engineering, and application expansion efforts.
  • Ensure field communication of all parts and accessories modifications, application issues, or other topics by working closely with technical support, sales, and engineering.

PARTS AND ACCESSORIES MARKETING

  • Communicate parts and accessories positioning, key benefits, and target customer, acting as an internal and external evangelist for these offerings.
  • Provide sales team with tools and technical expertise to enable sales of product. Including printed and electronic promotional material, training, and relevant technical papers.
  • Work with marketing communications to develop and execute parts and accessories communication plans and promotional campaigns to generate awareness and drive demand.
  • Identify new channels and innovative ways to extend the reach of DriSteem parts and accessories in existing and new markets. Championing implementation of new approaches to the market.
  • Parts channel relationship management and expert point of contact, working closely with sales, customer service, and technical support teams.

SYSTEM AND ORGANIZATION SUPPORT

  • Maintain parts and accessories records in the ERP and eCommerce systems.
  • Monitors and adjusts parts and accessories pricing to drive ongoing growth in sales and profitability.
  • Creates part assemblies and kits that encourage product maintenance for customers.
  • Act as the lead resource for the rest of the organization when deep expertise is required.
  • Manage parts changeover through the EC process, keeping systems in alignment and clarifying substitutions for customers.
  • Manage field feedback and inquiries from users to ensure that suggestions and requests are seamlessly integrated into ongoing planning and development efforts.
  • Work with technical support on escalated field cases, working cross-functionally to achieve resolution.
  • Advise the management team of significant field issues and/or opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and improve processes to drive efficiency.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support continual compliance with ISO 9001 standards and procedures.
  • Maintain positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management.
  • Complies with any/all company safety and health rules and policies and promotes safe work practices. Reports any safety concerns to supervisor/manager.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental guidelines and company standards.
  • Potential travel up to 15% of time.
  • Significant model shop/lab/factory interface up to 25% of time.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in Business, Marketing or Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years relevant parts and accessories or product management/marketing experience in the industrial, commercial, or institutional HVAC field.
  • Direct experience working in ERP and eCommerce systems to manage parts/accessories/products.
  • Aptitude to learn technical topics, understand product construction, and work effectively with engineering and other technical teams.
