DriSteem currently has an opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist I

POSITION SUMMARY

To measure, monitor, analyze, and continually improve inspection of products at different phases in their development ensuring they meet ISO standards. Perform visual inspections and record quality issues.

ISO 9001:2015

  • Work with the Lead Auditor to administer Internal Audits to internal interested parties.
  • Generate electronic audit reports for the internal audit team.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize risk regarding the impact it has on the Quality Management System.
  • Participate in the yearly ISO 9001:2015 audit with Quality Systems Manager and appropriate personnel.

QUALITY

  • Help design and implement testing procedures.
  • Assist in the formulation of quality policies and procedures.
  • Collect and maintain product test data to monitor and measure quality performance for current manufacturing products and processes.
  • Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operation functions within the organization on quality-related items.
  • Participate in Kaizen team events to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain measurement and test equipment.
  • Maintain calibration system, testing, calibration work instructions, quality records, and traceability to specific standards.
  • Perform special inspections such as first article approvals on incoming material as required.
  • Perform inspections on all incoming products that are flagged for inspection
  • Perform final product audits on outgoing units.
  • Control of non-conforming material and its disposition.
  • Promote and comply with all elements of the DriSteem Quality Management System and actively promote continuous improvement in all aspects of the business.
  • Respond to assigned non-conformances and Corrective Action Requests (CAR) with thoroughness while meeting the required deadline.
  • Make business decisions consistent with the basic quality system philosophy and business priorities, even when in conflict with other organizational objectives.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management.
  • Comply with any/all company safety and health rules and policies and promote safe work practices. Report any safety concerns to the supervisor/manager.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental guidelines and company standards.
  • Perform related work as apparent or assigned.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001 standards and procedures.
  • Continuously strive for product and process improvements that meet or exceed our customer requirements.

EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary education in a related field with a 2-year degree a plus.
  • 1+ years of experience in Quality related field in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ years of ISO 9001:2015 experience recommended.
  • Basic level of Root Cause Analysis experience.
  • Basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Creative problem-solving using appropriate quality tools and techniques. 
  • LEAN certification a plus.  
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation required.

  • Detail-oriented to ensure all procedures are followed for ISO 9001:2015 purposes.
