DriSteem currently has an opening for a Production Supervisor. 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor will oversee daily production and factory staff to meet targeted output, schedule adherence, quality, and productivity, while promoting working safely. This individual will work to improve the efficiency of the company’s operation’s department. They will work to maintain a positive company culture by modeling the core values and communicating effectively. The Production Supervisor is responsible for effectively managing and supporting the factory staff in their day-to-day activities. 

PRODUCTION
•  Coordinate factory scheduling between production cells to maintain schedule attainment 
•  Direct the production leads to effectively execute production schedules across multiple shifts
•  Determine production staffing needs based on forecasting, bookings, and cell capacities
•  Assist in budgeting, planning and production forecasting
•  Assist the production manager with weekly reports
•  Support Lean and Continuous Improvement activities including Gemba Walks, Kaizen Events and 5S
•  Continually meet or exceed departmental goals while managing cost and maintaining quality

SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE
•  Support continual compliance with ISO 9001 standards and procedures
•  Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws 
•  Monitor safety on the production floor, promote safe work practices, conduct investigations of accidents/incidents, and immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions, or accidents
•  Ensure manufacturing procedures are followed and quality standards are maintained
•  Enforce compliance with departmental guidelines and company standards
 
STAFFING AND TRAINING
•  Hire or assist in hiring new production employees and coordinate onboarding training
•  Appraise employee performance including rewarding, promoting and disciplinary actions
•  Support and maintain a training system to ensure production personnel are properly performing the tasks assigned while promoting a flexible workforce.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES  
•  Foster a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in an appropriate manner 
•  Create an environment that promotes teamwork and support operations and company goals and objectives 
•  Inform management of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management
•  Address complaints and resolve problems in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS
•  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.  Practical experience in lieu of degree will be considered
•  4+ years of manufacturing experience
•  2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
•  Intermediate level of experience with Lean concepts and tools such as 5S, Kaizan, Gemba Walks and simple improvements
•  Experience in a metal fabrication and machining environment a plus
•  Expert level experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
